iOS Certificate Expiry September 23, 2017

On September 23, 2017 some versions of the iOS application on iOS 8 and above stopped working due to an expired certificate. Most users should have received an in-app update prior to this date to version 2.7, which would have fixed the issue before connections stopped working. However, if the update was not installed automatically or properly then it is possible that all connections would fail and you would receive an error message referencing the certificate.

Luckily, the issue and it can be fixed with a fresh reinstallation of the application. To uninstall your current application and reinstall the new one, follow the instructions below:

1. Uninstall the TunnelBear app from your iOS device the way you would with any other application
2. Make sure ALL TunnelBear VPN profiles have been deleted (iOS Settings -> General -> Profiles)
3. Reboot the device and head back to the App Store and grab the latest version of the TunnelBear app
4. Make sure to choose "In-App" when prompted

If the issue persists after a fresh installation, please contact our friendly support bears for further help.
