On October 1st, Microsoft released a new update for Windows 11, 24H2. Unfortunately, this update has introduced a new issue where some VPN services are unable to establish connections over certain VPN protocols.
As such, we've released an update to the TunnelBear Windows app to help mitigate this issue, TunnelBear version 4.9.7.
How to update your Bear:
In order to update your TunnelBear in light of this issue, Windows users can run through any of the following options:
Update via your TunnelBear settings:
- Open your TunnelBear settings menu
- Select the "Account" tab and "Check for updates"
- Proceed through the prompts to update TunnelBear
- Once finished, you should be able to connect TunnelBear
Reinstall the TunnelBear application:
- Make sure to quit/close the TunnelBear application
- Download the latest version of TunnelBear for Windows
- Run the TunnelBear installer
- Proceed through the prompts to update TunnelBear
