I’m afraid that issues streaming are not uncommon as many TV providers and streaming services block VPN traffic from accessing their geo-restricted content.
Typically, streaming services have to maintain these types of restrictions as they often have very strict distribution rights within different regions. One way that this can be enforced is by not permitting traffic through that looks like it’s coming from a VPN, which is extremely difficult and resource intensive to mask on our end. For this reason, even the fastest and strongest of tunneling bears may not get you around these restrictions.
TunnelBear is designed first and foremost to provide you with privacy and security and we have focused our efforts on making sure that those criteria are always met. Given this focus, it is not always our priority to make sure each and every content provider is accessible at all times. I can assure you that TunnelBear is working as it should be to provide you with the fierce, grizzly privacy you’ve come to expect from your Bear. If you are looking strictly to access geo-restricted content, however, our Bears may not be the right choice for you.
That said, there are a few steps outlined in this article for getting around the majority of common access issues.
